Photographs of deportation, labelled by Germans as simply 'Greece 1943.' Until recently they were thought unidentifiable, but Jews of Ioannina who survived the Holocaust identified the location as Ioannina. They actually recognised their fellow-countrymen and the square by the lake where they were taken before being loaded onto lorries and deported. If this identification is correct, the photographs must have been taken on 25th March 1944.
